The end of another soccer season...

Last Sunday not only saw us see Emma off to Cuboree but we also had Nathan's soccer break up.  As always he had a great soccer season and his team came in 3rd in their first competitive year.

We headed to the club for the annual giving out of medals and trophies and then to lunch with the team topping off the day with a fun few hours at Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast.

Now we head into indoor soccer for the off season and I know that soccer will be back on in full force before we know it.

Trying to sew...and a little bit of soccer

I have been spending my time over that last few days trying to get some sewing done.  The trouble is I have a few projects on the go and cutting them out has taken me for ages.  I have sewn something though.  First of all this pile of 144 squares is a project I am working on for someone special.  I actually did manage to sew an x shape across all of these.

And I also managed to finish 2 easy skirts.  The first one somehow ended up way too short for it's recipient so I had to make a second one that was longer... not sure how that happened.

And I also cut out another project for three special people (although I can't share it right now) but it was a lot of cutting!

I thought I would also share some photos from our recent trip to see the Brisbane Roar play the grand final in Brisbane.  We had an awesome afternoon.

It was even better when we won!

It's a soccer life

Nathan has had a weekend full of soccer.  Soccer seems to take up two thirds of our week a the moment, but we don't mind we love watching Nathan play.

We went over to Pine Rivers today and Nathan played really well.  I thought I would share some photos.

It was a bit tricky finding photos without other kids in it.  This last photo I really like of Nate just sitting watching the other boys have their goal shots at the end of the game.

Emma had a bit of a run too, playing soccer in between games with the smaller boys.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday

Random things today...

Just a random post today...

We are off to the Redcliffe Markets tomorrow (Sunday) so if you feel like a few hours out, drop by and see us.  We won't be back there until October so if you would like something come and get it tomorrow.

We had our last game of the soccer season today.  Both kids played sooo well.  Nathan is just awesome at soccer these days, we are so proud of him.  He still has some development squad stuff to do.  Tomorrow he has an in house carnival at Caboolture.  We are super proud of him for that because they only picked 10 kids out of the squad to play and he was one of them!

And my wonderful friend, Kellie is having a baby soon so on Monday I am off to visit her and have some lunch.  I don't know what she is having yet so it is hard to make things but I did make her this nappy and wipes carry pouch and burp cloth to match.  I have heaps of things I would love to make for her but I am just struggling not knowing the sex of the baby and choosing just the right material etc.  Anyhow, I hope she likes it.

And, I took quite a bit in on the sides of my halter that I made the other day and I took it up about 5cm and now it is perfect, it is much more fitted and the right length...I am learning that it just takes patience to get patterns to suit your body sometimes.  Now I am all set to make one that is a bit longer for a beach dress. I am hoping to get that done this week.  I really want it ready for my trip away in a couple of weeks.

Have a great Sunday tomorrow!

Our soccer superstars!

Of course, you know that my house has two little soccer superstars that live here.  So, I thought I would share their soccer photos from the year...

First Emma.  This is what I like to call her 'game face' (really she just refused to smile for the lady!)

Then Nathan with his nice photo face on.

Nathan had a really special day on Saturday, he is in the U8 development squad at soccer and they got to play an exhibition game on the big field under the lights.  It was great to watch.  They then got to run on, paired up with a seniors player and line up with them before the big game started.  It made Nathan's day and it made ours too...proud of him.

Emma's Soccer Carnival

Been very busy, worked 4 relief days these past two weeks as well as my own so I haven't had much time to think about blogging.  I can tell you that I am LOVING my days off this week, some normality in my house again!

Emma had her first soccer carnival on the weekend.  We had a good day, Emma wasn't feeling that great and was a bit sad and sorry but when she got on the field she gave it her best and she didn't give up.  Thought I would share some photos of our little Matilda...

She looks so cool!  She complains a lot when she plays and often asks to come off, but you wouldn't know that by looking at these photos of her playing the ball.

I have some more blog posts in my head so hopefully you will hear from me more often over the next week!

(Oh and for anyone interested, my button jars (spice racks) came from Crazy Clarks for $8.00)

Yesterday we spent the day at Bribie with friends, playing in the park, having a picnic and playing/discovering things on the beach.

Then today we went to soccer.  Nathan played a fantastic game today, infact his whole team did a great job and played so well.

And Emma had her first ever game of soccer.  It was quite funny, there are only 4 on the team and they had no idea where to stand, what to do apart from kick the ball when it came near them.  They were all very cute though!

Don't forget we are at Bribie Markets tomorrow morning (Sunday) if you feel like a visit.

Little soccer superstar in the making...

Emma has started her first soccer season.  She hasn't played her first game yet, that comes this Saturday but she has started training.  I sit there and watch her and just constantly say to myself  "She is sooooo cute!" she looks adorable in her little get up, especially when they are doing their push ups!  So here are some photos to share.

Let's see how she goes with her first game this weekend, she is playing for the Red Bellies.

Some projects

Well, my market stall collection has been getting a little low lately so I thought I better get into making some more product.  So I made some more lolly tins, I have so many tins in my cupboard but I had to stop because I ran out of lollies.

And I made some cute little tissue holders which have been cut out for ages waiting to be sewn.  I love the pom pom trim.

And a new product for my stall, fabric covered notebooks.  This is one size that I have done.  They look so nice.

I also finally finished my little sewn whale, Matthew.  A friend for Little.

And to finish with todays photos, on the weekend we went to soccer sign on for the year.  Emma and Nathan are playing this year so it was a big event.  They both got new soccer boots, Emma's are so little they are just too cute!  Size 12.  So I thought I would share a photo.  Nathan chose fluro green boots this year, no one can say they didnt's see his foot coming if they accidently get kicked!

Enjoy the rest of your day.
