Fun in Fiji

I've been busy this last week writing a blog post for our vacation membership Wyndham Vacations to try to win a holiday to Fiji and then blog about it.  I didn't win but my entry is on show for everyone to see at the Wyndham site here.  If you could head over to the link and give me a vote I would really love and appreciate it.  I thought it a waste to just share my post over there so I have posted it below as well.

Here are some memories from our trip to Fiji in 2010.  It's short (we had a word limit and photo limit) so if you have any questions just ask!

Fiji is our favourite place to holiday.  The people are the most friendly we have met and the atmosphere is so relaxing that you can feel your stress melt away as you hop off the plane.
Here are the hi-lights from our trip:
To Relax - You can’t beat the pool at Wyndham Fiji.  It is large and inviting, especially with the swim up bar for the adults.  It is easy to spend hours on a pool chair while the kids swim, reading a book and having a pineapple daiquiri (the best I have ever had and made with fresh fruit) or a refreshing Fiji Bitter.
To Explore - During our visit to Fiji we discovered so many great things to do.  We booked a full day tour with Captain Cook to Mystery Island (Tivau Island).  We were picked up at the resort by our guide and then cruised over to the island on a beautiful boat with tall sails.  While on the island there was a lot of relaxing for me to do including a massage on the beach while the kids were able to snorkel right off the beach (they take you out in the boat too).  Emma (6) almost sat on a starfish while splashing in the shallow water!  They provided an excellent lunch which we all enjoyed and Emma had her hair braided.
We visited the hot mud baths during our trip.  We jumped in a taxi that was waiting for passengers outside the Wyndham resort and the driver took us there and waited for us to finish so he could bring us back.  That is great service.  We paid $30 FJD to get into the baths.  We started off in the natural mud pool and covered ourselves in mud and then we refreshed in the natural hot spring.  We had so much fun and we laughed so much, we loved it!
Our next adventure was the Sigatoka River Safari.  We got to ride up the river in a jet boat and see many locals.  We got to visit a village where we were welcomed and shown around.  We had lunch ‘Fiji style’ prepared by the ladies in the village.  The village we visited had no school or electricity, it was an eye opening experience for both my husband and I as well as the kids.  On the way back on the jet boat Nathan (8) was given the opportunity to help drive the boat which he loved!  Fiji is very child friendly.
To Eat - There are so many dining options when staying on Denarau you are spoiled for choice.  We love the resort restaurant and often have our breakfast there (the pancakes are delicious).  We also enjoyed pizza at Mamma’s, chili crab at Indigo, both at the Port of Denarau and the fish and chips you get at Neptune’s which is a small hut just on the waters edge right next Wyndham Resort.
These are just a few of the things we loved about our holiday at Wyndham Resort Fiji and we can’t wait for our next visit.

 Mud bath fun!

Ready for our trip up the river in the jet boat.

 Dancing with the locals.

Eating pizza at Mamma's at Port Denarau.

Looking back at these pictures really makes me want to go back!
