A new favourite...

I want to tell you about a new favourite book of mine (our family's really).  We are all loving the awesome meals that we have been getting on the table of late due to this book

Jamie's 30-minute Meals
I love to cook and mostly relate cooking to sweet treats so it has been a nice change to cook some meals instead.  Our menu planner was looking tired and boring and we needed to inject some yumminess into our meals so I started flicking through the pages of my new book and marking meals that appealed to me. There are a lot of post-its sticking out of this book.

We are trying about 5 meals out of here to start and then we'll work our way through but I thought I would share the ones we have had and loved (in fact there have not been any we haven't liked or haven't been able to cook properly).  The best thing about these meals is that they are super easy to make and don't take long at all and the ingredients are easy to get.

So far our favourites are:

  • Tray baked chicken with squashed potatoes and spinach
  • Chicken skewers with amazing satay sauce
  • Thai red prawn curry
  • Super fast beef hash with jacket potatoes and salad
  • Pork chops
(I don't always cook all the components of the meal in the book, sometimes just the main meat)

These have all been seriously yummy.  I would recommend this book to anyone who would like to brighten up their meals.  And yes, it is no secret that we are big Jamie Oliver fans in this house but I only recommend the book because I find it great.

I would love to hear if you have this book and have a favourite recipe that we should try.

Happy Sunday!

  1. I have this book too and haven't made anything from it yet....I was thinking about challenging myself to cook from it once a week!

    1. That's a really good way to do it, I write a 3 week menu and put those meals in there so I am ready for them ingredients wise etc. that way they get cooked.

  2. LOVE this book! Our fave is the pizza - base is so quick and easy to make (Amelia helps) as there is no yeast. Easy sauce that I make in a big batch and freeze in portions and the way he cooks it on the stove first and then in the oven is perfect!
